Who is the course for?

Due to the diverse areas of study this subject offers, this course is suitable for students wishing to pursue a career in the following professions;
Engineering, Architecture, Surveyor, D&T Teacher, Designer, Town Planner, Any field in Construction,
Material Scientist, Quality controller and Health and Safety Officer.

Entry requirements

Due to the nature of the course it is advisable that students have previously studied a D&T or Art based subject. However, you will be considered if a grade C has been achieved in Maths, English and Science, or the equivalent of a level 2 qualification..

How you will be assessed

Students will be expected to produce a piece of coursework that consists of a folio and practical outcome. This is worth 60% of the total grade available. It is also required that students sit an exam that is worth 40%.

As mentioned earlier, there are a lot of career options related to this subject. Product Design is a practical subject and any university, whatever your career
aspirations, appreciate individuals that have the ability to apply themselves when faced with a difficult challenge.
