Who is the course for?
The course is designed for learners who have an aptitude and interest in producing, recording and arranging music. Using music creation software, learners will undertake practical tasks in creating digital music. The essential role of computer-based systems in contemporary music production is explored in depth and learners are encouraged to focus on the practical benefits of a high level of familiarity with the technology and techniques involved.
Applicants would be expected to have good ICT skills, as well as an interest in the music industry and current music trends. Knowledge of a musical instrument is not necessary, however creativity and enthusiasm for the subject is essential.
How you will be assessed
Learners will be assessed mostly on practical tasks and assignments based on a portfolio of music that demonstrates the grading criteria of all course units have been achieved. There is no formal examination for this course.
Higher education in Music Technology, Studio Engineering, Sound Recording, Music Management and Publishing, Music Production, as well as work within DJ technologies and sound coordination of live events.
