Health & Social Care BTEC Level 3



What will you study

Health and Social Care is about looking after and promoting the well-being of the community and individuals. The subject helps you develop an understanding of these areas and helps you introduce some of the knowledge and competencies needed to work in Health and Social Care services.

Students will complete six units of coursework based in a vocational context. Students will gain practical experience from work experience. In addition, students will gain insight into the working environment through local visits to organizations and guest speakers.  Students will have the opportunity to have a taster into Sign Language


Who is the course for?

Students who are interested in a career within the NHS, social work, care for the elderly and childcare. This subject is particular suitable to those students who prefer to do coursework related subject. 

Entry requirements

5 high grade passes (A*-C) including a Merit at Level 2 in any BTEC subjects

How you will be assessed

Through coursework and observation demonstrating skills and interacting with service users.
Students will complete six unit assignments for which you will be awarded 4 GCSE’s at Pass (Grade E), Merit (Grade C), Distinction (Grade A) equivalent to 1 A-Level, Distinction *.
